Mustafa Ekener was born in İzmir in 1978. He graduated from İzmir American College in 1996 and completed his degree at the University of Hertfordshire, UK, in 2003.

He has been working professionally in photography for the past three years, with a preference for black-and-white imagery.

His work focuses on light, space, and composition.

He draws inspiration from artists such as Michael Kenna and Sebastiao Salgado.
